FAQ
What content does Treato cover?

Treato searches health forums, blogs or any other user content web platform for User Generated Content ("UGC") that contains medical terminology written by patients.

How does Treato make use of the information?

We use the information available online to draw insights into what users report about their concerns and experiences with their medications. By applying advanced algorithms, we supply the collective wisdom contained in hundreds of millions of UGCs.

Does Treato rank medications?

No. Treato analyzes billions of patient discussions to understand what patients are saying about their experience with regard to their treatments, diseases and side effects. Treato algorithmically identifies patients’ positive experiences about medications within their Web posts, for example acne that cleared up, high blood pressure that was reduced, a certain drug that "worked," and so forth.

Treato aggregates all of these discussions to calculate how many positive patient posts each medication received, relative to other drugs. Note that positive patient posts about medications are always aggregated in relation to a specific condition, since the same medication may be used for more than one condition.

Is the data reliable?

By tracking vast amounts of data from an extremely large number of sources over a long period of time we minimize the risk of data manipulation by third parties or patients whose behavior or experience is an outlier. Whilst we cannot guarantee that our findings are error free, our advanced algorithms clear, organize and statistically analyze the data to increase reliability. As an additional security, our multi-disciplinary medical team performs quality assurance tests to verify the clinical implications.

What are the uses of Treato's products?

Treato's products are designed to support the entire medical eco-system in their drug decision making process aiming to:

1. Influence the way specific drugs and drug brands are chosen and used by making vital drug-related information available to patients and healthcare professionals.

2. Assist the practice of pharmacovigilance, enabling healthcare professionals to use our findings and insights to lower their adverse drug effects research costs.

3. Improve the economics and efficiency of meeting and overseeing the execution of post-marketing (“Phase IV”) requirements assumed by drug companies once their compounds are FDA-approved and start to gain traction in the marketplace.

4. Improve health outcomes and lower cost per patient life for health plans by detecting patient behavioral opportunities.

5. Discover new opportunities for pharmaceutical companies, reducing barriers to drug adoption. Develop new insights that can be leveraged for competitive differentiation.

What is so unique about Treato’s approach?

For the first time, the voice of the patient is being heard, gathered and relied upon. Our progressive research approach overcomes the limitations of traditional research methods such as time, cost, limited amounts of data, and strict regulation, to deliver the best results.

The fact that patients are coming forward to voice their opinions in their own words, combined with our ability to uniquely identify and organize the vast amount of available data, makes this a must-have-tool in every drug-decision-making-process.

When looking at the information what should you be aware of?

As a user, whether patient or professional, please bear in mind the power, as well as the limitations of the information we present on your topic of interest. Generally, we have thousands of posts per search; however topics with less information may contain less accurate statistical conclusions.

When searching a specific topic and looking at the analyzed data, we recommend that you invest the time to read the original posts, since they reveal a lot of information.

How do we ensure patients' privacy?

As a corporate policy, we analyze and provide aggregated information only, and do not uncover or provide individual recognizable information to any third party. However, posts actively written and published on the web by individuals are accessible exactly as they were written, with no modifications or manipulations.
